His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, emphasized the importance of the digital economy as the new “oil of the age,” noting that this sector has become the fundamental pillar for achieving economic competitiveness and sustainable development globally.

This came during his speech at the opening of the Seamless Middle East 2025 Conference and Exhibition, hosted by Dubai, in the presence and under the patronage of Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Supreme President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, as well as a large number of officials and international experts in the fields of digital economy and financial technology.

Aboul Gheit expressed his appreciation to the United Arab Emirates and its wise leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, for supporting the “Arab Vision for the Digital Economy,” adopted by Arab leaders and launching several groundbreaking initiatives, such as the Arab Digital Agenda and the Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Strategy.

He explained that the UAE has succeeded in consolidating its position as a major driver of the digital economy through major initiatives, including the establishment of the largest global artificial intelligence complex outside the United States and investment in advanced digital infrastructure.
