Despite the major transformations the global economy is witnessing toward a knowledge economy, the transition to this economic model is neither easy nor automatic. It requires profound changes in the economic, educational, and institutional structures of countries. It also faces a range of complex challenges that may hinder the transition toward a knowledge economy if they are not addressed strategically.<\/p>\n

Understanding these challenges is an essential step for any country seeking to build a knowledge-based economy, because the success of this transformation largely depends on the ability of governments and institutions to address these obstacles and develop effective policies to deal with them.<\/p>\n

The Digital Divide Between Countries<\/h3>\n
