The Arab Federation for the Digital Economy issued a new study entitled: Economic Performance Report in the Arab Region 2022, where the report covered for the first time all Arab countries and was not limited only to the Arab countries involved in the formation of the Council of Economic Unity, as was customary in previous versions.<\/p>\n

The report presents the results of each country separately, as it presents an analysis of the performance of a number of key economic indicators, including the growth rate in GDP, average per capita GDP at current prices, inflation rate, unemployment rate, income rate and gross domestic product as a sweeper of the gross domestic product.\u00a0The report presents its expectations regarding these indicators for the year 2022, in addition to the sectoral performance of the economy of the Arab countries, at the level of the commodity production sectors, the productive services sectors and the social services sectors.<\/p>\n

The report touched on the effects of the Corona pandemic crisis on the Arab economy, and highlighted this impact on economic indicators, especially on annual growth rates, which showed the Arab countries\u2019 exit from the decline in economic growth to the negative trend in 2020, which improved in 2021 and showed a positive trend again.<\/p>\n

The report deals with a new methodology based on building a quality of life model for the Arab countries, and presents the conceptual framework and tools for measuring quality of life, guided by the report issued by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.\u00a0The importance of building the model is that the quality of life depends largely on the extent of the success of economic policies, but it is not limited to economic policies and results, but rather expands the concept to focus on a group of other components.<\/p>\n

The report defines \u201cquality of life\u201d as a multi-scope concept, where there is no unified definition due to its multidimensional nature. of the level of quality of life, which led to a reconsideration of the concept of development and the declaration of sustainable development goals.<\/p>\n

This axis also included focusing on happiness indicators, governance, transparency, innovation, law enforcement, and human development as one of the most important foundations of a broad vision that is not limited to economic results alone, but expands to look at a different and more comprehensive perspective.<\/p>\n
