The Arab Federation for the Digital Economy held a remote meeting via video call with the Central Bank of Egypt, in the presence of Mr. Ayman Mukhtar Ghoneim, Assistant Secretary-General of the\u00a0Federation\u00a0, and Dr. Rasha Najm, Assistant Deputy Governor for Payment Systems, and representatives of both sides.<\/p>\n
The meeting included a discussion of initiatives and projects emanating from the Arab vision for the digital economy, the most important of which are the Arab Food Project, the Arab Digital University Initiative, and the Initiative to Qualify One Million Arab Entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
Representatives of the Central Bank of Egypt expressed interest in the projects and formed working committees with the participation of specialists in the Central Bank to clarify the mechanism of work of payment systems on digital platforms. Discussions also shared agreement on the importance of developing standards for encrypted digital operations issued by central banks.<\/p>\n
