The Seamless Saudi Arabia Conference and Exhibition concluded successfully, under the slogan “The Future of Payments in the Kingdom”, in strategic partnership with the Arab Federation for Digital Economy and “Saudi Payments”. The event witnessed a large attendance exceeding 12 thousand visitors over two days, as it was inaugurated by His Excellency the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank, Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Mubarak, in the presence of a number of prominent figures.
The conference and exhibition included a variety of workshops and dialogue sessions, with the participation of 200 speakers from local and international experts in the fields of payments and financial technology. The event also witnessed the signing of agreements between a group of companies and financial institutions, with the participation of more than 300 local and international companies and 150 emerging technology companies.
The exhibition accompanying the conference highlighted the latest innovations in the fields of payments and financial technology, in addition to retail and e-commerce. Saudi Payments also presented a number of current and future technologies, which enhance the opportunities for adopting these technologies and developing the financial payments sector, which contributes to enabling e-commerce and retail, and supports the growth of the digital economy in the Kingdom.
For its part, Saudi Payments presented specialized programs in the digital payments sector. The CEO of Saudi Payments, Abdulaziz Al-Afaleq, participated in a dialogue session on “Evaluating Promising Regional Opportunities in the E-Commerce and Retail Sector”, and the CEO of Operations at Saudi Payments, Abdulaziz Abanmi, gave a keynote presentation on “Interoperability and Standardization: The Safety of Enabling the Payments System”.
Tamim Al Qaseer, Senior Vice President of Business Sector, gave a keynote presentation on “E-commerce Payments in the Kingdom: Sector Developments and Future Opportunities,” while Noura Al Bakr, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Excellence, gave a presentation on “The Dynamic Evolution of the Payments Sector and its Future Dimensions.” Mohammed Omar, Director of Business Development, participated in a panel discussion on “The Kingdom’s Move Towards a Less Cash-Based Society by 2030.”
Aws Al-Muqrin, Director of Data Management and Advanced Analytics at Saudi Payments, also gave a keynote presentation entitled: “A Data-Driven Financial Sector: The Importance of Data Strategies in Enabling Data-Driven Organizations.”
Joseph Ridley, General Manager of Terrapin International, the organizer of Seamless Saudi Arabia, commented on the great success of the event, noting that it is considered one of the largest events in terms of attendance, as it witnessed great interaction from the participants.
The exhibition reviewed many topics related to financial technology, which contributes to strengthening the Kingdom’s leading position in the financial sector at the regional and international levels, and pushes towards an actual transformation towards a society less dependent on cash. It is worth noting that the “Seamless” conference is considered one of the largest international conferences specialized in the field of payments, as it has been held for 23 years to be a meeting place for experts and specialists, and covers the latest innovations and future opportunities in this field. The conference was held this year for the first time in Riyadh.
