The Arab Federation for Digital Economy participated in the activities of the Arab-Italian Business Forum, which was held at the Chamber’s headquarters in the Italian capital, Rome, jointly organized by the Joint Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, the Union of Arab Chambers, and in cooperation with the League of Arab States.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Darmaki, Deputy Secretary General of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, delivered a speech during the forum in which he spoke about the Arab Food Market Initiative, one of the most important strategic initiatives launched by the Federation to enhance Arab integration in the field of food security. Dr. Al Darmaki explained that the platform aims to facilitate the exchange of agricultural and food products between Arab countries, achieve greater efficiency in supply chains, and reduce the food gap in the region.

In his speech, he stressed that the platform is not just a commercial tool, but rather a sustainable solution that enhances Arab cooperation and relies on modern digital technology to provide accurate data on supply and demand and facilitate trade exchange operations. He called on Italian companies working in the field of food security to register on the Arab Food Market platform and benefit from its distinguished services, including enhancing cooperation opportunities with Arab markets and expanding their scope of work to the Middle East and North Africa region.

Signing a cooperation agreement

On the sidelines of the forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Arab Federation for Digital Economy and the Joint Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties and encourage Italian traders and companies to join the Arab Food Market platform, which contributes to supporting efforts aimed at achieving food security and strengthening trade ties between Arab countries and Italy.

Bilateral meetings and discussion of investment opportunities

The forum also witnessed a number of bilateral meetings between representatives of the Union and Italian companies, where investment opportunities in the field of food security and joint digital projects were discussed. The two sides also discussed prospects for cooperation between Arab countries and Italy in the fields of agricultural technology and digital innovation.
