Arab Federation for Digital Economy was awarded the “Arab Award of Excellence” from the Arab Economic Unity Council League of Arab States, within the side event of the international fintech conference “Seamless North Africa 2019”. The event was to celebrate the golden jubilee of Arab specialized unions.

During the event, H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Al Rabie, Secretary General, Arab Economic Unity Council League of Arab States, presented the award to both of H.E. Atef Helmy, President of the General Assembly, Arab Federation for Digital Economy, and H.E. Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, Advisor, Arab Economic Unity Council League of Arab States Chairman of Arab Federation for Digital Economy.

The award comes as an appreciation for the efforts of Arab Federation for Digital Economy to launch the Arab Common Vision for Digital Economy, on December 2018 in Abu Dhabi conference, under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.

The Arab Common Vision for Digital Economy aims at mobilizing and improving Arabic cooperation, based on digital knowledge, and developing technological and legal infrastructure, and support the plans of digital transformation and technological development in Arab countries. Where the first draft of the common vision, includes about 50 pioneering projects for digital transformation in all the Arab countries. This is part of the efforts of the League of Arab States, to cope with the global major changes in the fields of digital economy, through mobilizing the Arabic capabilities along with international expertise, and enabling Arabic cooperation to achieve a group of objectives of positive effect, that would raise the Arab societies.

The general assembly and the board of directors, Arab Federation for Digital Economy, thank H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, and H.H. Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for their support of the strategic Arab Common Vision for Digital Economy, and the initiatives stemming from it.
