Cairo
The 58th regular meeting of the specialized Arab federations operating within the framework of the Arab Economic Unity Council of the League of Arab States was held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, organized by the Arab Union of Productive Families, Crafts and Traditional Industries and the Arab Economic Unity Council.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Ahmed El-Ni, Secretary-General of the Arab Economic Unity Council of the League of Arab States, and in the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Hossam El-Din Ala, Syria’s permanent representative to the League of Arab States and head of its diplomatic mission in Egypt, and Dr. Sorour Al-Jarman from the Office of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
A delegation from the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy, and representatives of specialized Arab federations, participated in the meeting.
His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Ahmed El-Ni, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, affirmed during the opening session: “The world is currently witnessing great changes and multipolarity. China and the BRICS group are rising in their economies,” calling on Arab countries that possess the history and resources to contribute to this change and open new horizons towards achieving Arab economic growth serves the development projects taking place in a number of Arab countries.
In turn, the Chairman of the current session, Mr. Muhammad Al-Qadah, President of the Arab Union of Productive Families, Crafts and Traditional Industries, called for more efforts to support family industries and achieve sustainable development, to reach fruitful results at the executive level, and in order to advance broad trade exchange between Arab countries, stressing the necessity of establishing A cooperative Arab society for progress and prosperity.
For his part, Dr. Sorour Al-Jarman, representative of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States at the meeting, conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, to the meeting, wishing everyone continued success in the process of strengthening joint Arab action. He also conveyed greetings and solidarity from Ambassador Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Maliki, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States for the economic sector in all specialized Arab unions, stressing support for joint Arab action and Arab organizations that work under the scope of the Arab League.
The Council of Arab Economic Unity in the League of Arab States decided unanimously during the meetings of the 58th session of the specialized Arab federations to hold the next session No. (59) in the Libyan capital (Tripoli).
