His Excellency Audas Nyunzima, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Burundi, and Mr. Alan Ndukumana, Head of the Office of Strategic Studies, attended part of the Digital Economy Technologies Conference and Exhibition “Seamless Middle East 2024”, which is currently being held at the Convention and Exhibition Center in Dubai, where he was received by Mr. Patrick Al-Osta, Assistant Secretary-General for International Community Affairs at the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy.

During the meeting, a number of topics related to the fields of the digital economy were discussed, and the role of the “Seamless Dubai” exhibition in the fields of electronic and digital payments, e-commerce, the retail sector, financial technology, digital identity, and services, and the importance of this in business development and leadership.

 

The Burundian delegation also attended a meeting with stakeholders in the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy to discuss the initiatives emanating from the Arab vision for the digital economy, which was adopted at the Leaders’ Summit in Algeria (2022), in order to work to support the digital transformation strategy in Burundi. In addition, the delegation participated They actively participated in the event, where they participated in discussions aimed at enriching the digital landscape of the Republic of Burundi and promoting its integration into the global digital economy.

 

Moreover, the delegation expressed their brief request for the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy to visit the Republic of Burundi and provide support in developing the country’s digital transformation strategy, stressing the importance of cooperation in advancing digital initiatives.
