Aboul Gheit pointed out that the role of the digital economy in creating wealth and increasing the total output of national economies is a matter that no longer needs explanation, and the Arab region has witnessed rapid transformations and qualitative leaps in this field, despite the severity of the crises that befell it, as the Arab digital economy has grown at a positive pace. He also praised the efforts of some countries that have achieved remarkable and real breakthroughs in this field, foremost of which, of course, is the UAE, hoping that the effects of this tremendous revolution will extend to all parts of the Arab world, by reducing the digital gap.
His Excellency hoped that the Arab countries would double the value of the funding allocated to implement these plans, with deep awareness of the financial pressures facing some Arab countries, which prevented an increase in the budgets allocated for this goal. There is no doubt that the world today stands on the cusp of a new revolution that has benefited from the fruits of the digital revolution.
He revealed that today we will witness the launch of the fourth edition of the Arab Digital Economy Index report, which is issued by the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy, which is a report that provides a competitive ranking of countries and a realistic analysis of their situations from different angles.
