Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, today inaugurated the activities of the Conference and Exhibition on Digital Economy Technologies “Seamless 2020”, which will be held at the World Trade Center in Dubai and will continue on November 16 and 17, 2020. Sponsored by the League of Arab States and organized by Terrapin International Conferences Organization.
This comes within the framework of the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for the Arab vision of the digital economy and the programs and projects emanating from it.
His Highness attended the opening session of the conference, and His Highness and the attendees watched a film reviewing part of the efforts to develop the Arab digital economy and the initiatives and projects that enhance these efforts, in addition to listening to the speeches delivered at the opening ceremony.
The opening was attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Hamid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, His Excellency Nevin Jameh, Minister of Egyptian Trade and Industry, and His Excellency Raoul Nehme, Minister of Economy and Lebanese Trade, His Excellency Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Head of the Office of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohamed El Khoury, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Union for Economics, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Othman Elkhosht and a number of Arab ambassadors accredited to the Emirates, And a large number of Arab delegations, government officials and experts in the fields of the digital economy.
General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, after attending the opening session of the conference, toured the accompanying exhibition, where he was briefed on the latest technology in the areas of digital government services, digital identity, digital payments, e-commerce, retail trade and financial technology.
The participants valued the level at which exhibiting companies and institutions emerged, and everyone’s commitment to the rules of distancing and health protection to confront infection, which is calculated for the management of the exhibition and conference, and that this crowd and conference, which is taking place in a completely safe manner, confirms the importance of the preventive and health measures followed by the state to serve its residents and visitors.
This year’s conference and exhibition session comes after the launch of the Arab Digital Economy Vision initiative in December 2018 in Abu Dhabi, and to complement the efforts of the Arab League in highlighting the role of advanced technologies in building social and economic systems in the region.
A large number of government officials and experts will participate in the conference to shed light on the latest technologies and challenges in the world of the digital revolution, through physical and virtual platforms for remote participation and live broadcasts of events and sessions.
