The Arab Federation for the Digital Economy, a member of the Executive Office of the Arab Federations Forum at the League of Arab States, issued a new study entitled: “The Global Economy Under the Shadow of Drugs – A Study of Trends and General Recommendations from Arab Visions” in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Administrative Development at the League of Arab States, and the Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies. The study shows that treating and combating drug addiction requires a comprehensive approach and concerted efforts from all sectors of society, as policy makers should prioritize public health and prevention strategies, as well as ensure the availability of integrated treatment services.
The study also included data, current trends, and a set of recommendations that call for redrawing a road map for future endeavors in this ongoing battle, stressing the importance of policy makers following a systematic mindset based on innovation in formulating plans directed to achieving the desired goals, protecting the future of the region and achieving sustainable growth in societies.
