The Arab Federation for Digital Economy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab Information and Communication Technology Organization (AICTO) during the meetings of the (54) session of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action, hosted by the Arab Federation for Digital Economy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from January 23 to 26, 2023, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
The MoU aims to enhance cooperation to leverage the opportunities offered by the ICT sector, advance economic development, provide the best means and practices to meet the needs of sustainable development in the Arab world for a sustainable digital economy, and launch joint projects and initiatives that contribute to the development of ICT.
The MoU stipulates the formation of a joint committee composed of representatives of both parties to agree on a mechanism for implementing agreed-upon joint programs and projects. The committee will meet periodically once a year or whenever necessary.
The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Federation for Economics, and Eng. Mohammed Bin Omar, Director General of the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organization, in the presence of representatives from both sides.
