Saif bin Zayed and Aboul Gheit Discuss the Arab Vision for the Digital Economy

Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Supreme President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, met with H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, on the sidelines of the Seamless Middle East 2025 Conference and Exhibition held in Dubai.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed practical steps to implement the “Arab Vision for the Digital Economy,” which was launched in Abu Dhabi in 2018 under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE (may God protect him). The vision serves as a comprehensive Arab strategic framework aimed at promoting economic and knowledge integration among Arab countries and enhancing their capabilities to confront global challenges and adapt to the transformations of the new global economy.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed affirmed the UAE’s commitment, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to supporting and adopting initiatives that contribute to achieving comprehensive digital development and consolidating Arab cooperation in the field of advanced technology and innovation, serving the common development goals of Arab countries.

For his part, His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit praised the UAE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen joint Arab action and its pioneering role in supporting strategic digital initiatives. He emphasized the importance of the digital economy in achieving stability and sustainable prosperity in the Arab region.

Both sides highlighted the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between relevant Arab institutions to activate practical projects and initiatives that support digital transformation and contribute to enabling Arab societies to keep pace with global economic and technological developments.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and Chairman of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, and a number of senior officials.
