Ambassador Mohammadi Ahmed Al-Ni, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, affirmed that the United Arab Emirates continues to consolidate its position as a driving force for digital transformation in the Arab world. He praised the UAE’s pioneering role in supporting the Arab vision for the digital economy and promoting joint Arab action.
This came in his keynote speech at the Seamless Middle East 2025 Conference and Exhibition in Dubai. Ambassador Al-Ni noted that the Arab Vision for the Digital Economy, launched in Abu Dhabi in 2018 with the generous support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, represents a strategic roadmap for enhancing Arab economic integration through digital transformation, achieving sustainable development, and providing new opportunities.

He also added that the UAE has become a global hub for innovation in the field of artificial intelligence, in light of its expanding bold investments in AI, particularly the establishment of the largest AI complex outside the United States in Abu Dhabi. This reflects its vision for a digital economy at the national and regional levels.

Ambassador Alni also highlighted the results of the 2024 Arab Digital Economy Index, issued by the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, which is one of the most important reference tools for measuring the progress of Arab countries in digital transformation. The UAE topped the Arab world in this comprehensive index. This progress reflects the UAE’s superior performance across the index’s four main pillars: digital infrastructure, economic contribution, digital empowerment, and digital development and innovation.
Ambassador Alni concluded his remarks by calling on Arab countries to benefit from the UAE’s pioneering experience and enhance joint cooperation to achieve the goals of the Arab Vision for the Digital Economy, contributing to building a prosperous and sustainable economic future for the entire Arab region.
