Dr. Mohamed El-Korsh, Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in the Arab Republic of Egypt and a member of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, emphasized that agricultural technology represents a strategic axis for supporting Arab economies and achieving food security. He emphasized the need to leverage modern technological innovations to address the challenges facing the Arab agricultural sector.
This came in his speech during his participation in the Seamless Middle East 2025 conference and exhibition, hosted by Dubai with wide international and Arab participation. Dr. Al-Qersh explained that smart agricultural technologies, such as advanced irrigation systems, precision agriculture, and big data analysis using artificial intelligence, offer tremendous opportunities to improve the productivity of the agricultural sector and increase its competitiveness.
Dr. Al-Qersh indicated that adopting technology in the Arab agricultural sector would contribute to reducing the food gap and enhance the ability of Arab economies to achieve self-sufficiency and expand into global markets, in addition to providing new job opportunities, especially in rural areas.
Dr. Al-Qersh reviewed the Egyptian experience in applying agricultural technology, noting that Egypt has achieved remarkable progress in employing digital technologies and artificial intelligence applications in agricultural resource management, which has led to improved production efficiency and reduced water and energy consumption.
In concluding his speech, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture called for intensifying research efforts and strengthening cooperation between academic institutions, the private sector, and government agencies in the Arab world to create an environment conducive to agricultural innovation. He emphasized the importance of investing in agricultural technology to ensure sustainable economic and social development in the Arab region.
