The Arab Federation for Digital Economy awarded His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, the Arab Appreciation Award Shield during the Seamless Middle East 2025 Conference and Exhibition in Dubai, in recognition of his distinguished efforts in supporting the digital economy and digital development in the Arab region.
The Federation explained in a statement that this honor comes in recognition of the pivotal role played by the League of Arab States, under the leadership of His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in supporting joint Arab action and its effective contribution to formulating and adopting strategies and initiatives that support digital transformation and sustainable technological development in the region. This is particularly evident through the League’s direct efforts in supporting the Arab Digital Economy Vision initiative, which enjoys the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and was adopted at the Arab Leaders Summit in 2022.
His Excellency Engineer Atef Helmy, Chairman of the General Assembly of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, adding: “His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Arab League has been and continues to be a key supporter of the digital transformation process in our Arab world and has made significant contributions to facilitating strategic understandings among member states and unifying visions towards a common Arab digital future that ensures sustainable economic and social development for the peoples of the region.”
Helmy emphasized that this honor comes in recognition and appreciation of the leadership of the Arab League and its significant role in directing Arab efforts toward achieving a digital economic renaissance based on knowledge, innovation, and integration.
His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit received the award shield amidst a high-level official presence of representatives from Arab countries and a number of senior officials and experts in the digital economy and technology sector.
