During a ceremony held as part of the Seamless Middle East 2025 conference, the Arab Federation for Digital Economy honored the management of its branch in the Syrian Arab Republic. The ceremony was held in recognition of local institutional efforts to disseminate digital economy concepts and raise community awareness about the importance of digital transformation.
The Federation also commended the effective institutional role played by the Syrian branch through organizing several workshops and knowledge seminars in cooperation with government and private entities and civil society organizations. These workshops targeted various segments of society, including schools and colleges, entrepreneurs, and senior executives in the public and private sectors.
His Excellency Amr Salem, former Minister of Communications and Chairman of the Union’s branch in Syria, said in a press statement:
“This honor reflects the collective efforts of Syrian national cadres who believe that digital transformation has become a strategic necessity for achieving comprehensive development. Through the branch’s initiatives and operational plans in Syria, we will seek to build a bridge between local expertise and global developments, and empower youth with the tools of the future.”
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Darmaki, Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, emphasized that the Union’s branches in Arab capitals enhance the Union’s presence in the Arab region and enable it to implement targeted local programs in coordination with relevant national authorities. He pointed out that these branches represent an important link between the Union and various economic actors, educational institutions, and government institutions, contributing to accelerating the adoption of digital solutions and supporting emerging projects in the region.
