The Arab Federation for Digital Economy has set Saturday, May 10, 2025, as the deadline for submitting applications for the four main categories of the Second Arab Digital Economy Award 2025. It invites individuals and institutions wishing to participate to complete their applications and submit research and projects compatible with the award categories before the deadline.
The award represents one of the Arab institutional mechanisms for recognizing excellence in the digital economy by honoring pioneering projects, technical and innovative initiatives, and highlighting practices of practical and societal value.

The award covers four main categories, including:
Leadership and Digital Transformation
Applied Research and Innovation
Institutional Excellence
Smart Transformation and Digital Solutions with Social Impact
Through this award, the Federation targets the public and private sectors, startups, research centers and universities, and youth initiatives that have presented practical models that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and developing smart systems in the Arab world.
Date of awarding the winners of the second cycle 2025:
The awards will be officially presented during the Seamless Middle East 2025 Digital Economy Conference and Exhibition, scheduled to be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from May 20 to 22, 2025, in the presence of a number of senior officials and representatives of Arab and international institutions.
The Arab Federation for Digital Economy invites all interested participants to download the application form from the Federation’s official website, fulfill the required conditions, and submit their entries via the award’s designated email before the deadline.
First Award Cycle 2024:
The Federation held the first edition of the Arab Digital Economy Award on the sidelines of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Abu Dhabi on May 7, 2024.
The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and the President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy honored the winners of the first edition of the Arab Digital Economy Award.
His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, honored the institutions and leading figures who won the specified categories of the first edition of the award, in the presence of a crowd of leaders and officials from government and private institutions and the media.

The winners of the first edition of the award were selected based on their track record in implementing strategic national visions, their tangible achievements in their sectors, and their ability to join the race for excellence and address the fundamental challenges of building a transformation and innovation system that leads the future in accordance with best institutional practices.
The categories of the first edition of the award, announced in 2022 as one of the initiatives of the Arab Vision for the Digital Economy, adopted at the Arab Leaders Summit in Algeria in 2022, focused on several key categories, including digital payments, financial technology (Fintech), digital currencies, artificial intelligence, blockchain, e-commerce, digital banks, and technological solutions with financial and economic impact.
The list of entities and institutions honored in the first edition included the Leadership category. His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, was honored in this category, along with His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications in the United Arab Emirates.
In the Private Companies category, Khazna Tech for Financial Technology from the Arab Republic of Egypt and Biban Company from the Kingdom of Bahrain were honored.
The Award’s Role in Promoting Sustainable Development Efforts in Arab Countries:
During the award ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, emphasized the importance of digitalization as a key driver of economic transformation and sustainable development in Arab countries. He called for economic integration and enhanced digital resilience to adapt to changes and confront potential disruptions.
He pointed to the “Arab Vision for Digital Economy,” adopted at the 2022 Algiers Summit, which included 50 initiatives to promote the Arab digital economy. He added that these initiatives constitute the backbone of the digital ecosystem and primarily aim to enhance the resilience of Arab markets and drive digital transformation in light of rapid technological and economic transformations.
It is worth noting that the Arab Federation for Digital Economy has contributed since its inception to supporting the development of the digital economy in the Arab world. It focuses on enhancing knowledge, infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and technical standards to promote digital inclusion and sustainable development throughout the Arab region. The Union’s primary mission is to mobilize Arab and international capabilities to positively impact Arab societies and raise the standards and quality of life in the region. It also aims to establish the foundations of excellence and competitiveness in institutions and their leaders through a wide range of initiatives, studies, and reports it publishes to build and consolidate a digital culture, excellence, and innovation across all government and business sectors.
