As part of its participation in the China Investment Forum, held as part of the AIM Investment Summit in Abu Dhabi, the Arab Federation for Digital Economy held a series of high-level meetings with a number of senior officials from the People’s Republic of China. The meetings aimed to discuss ways for Arab-Chinese cooperation in the fields of the digital economy, the transfer of modern technology to the Arab region, and cooperation in organizing specialized conferences and exhibitions in vital fields.
The meetings held by the Arab Federation for Digital Economy included Mr. Huang Kaixuan, Executive Vice Mayor of the Tianhe District People’s Government in Guangzhou; Mr. Zhuang Changxing, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress; and Mr. Wang Bo, Vice Mayor of Qingdao, China.
His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, Chairman of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, stated during the meetings that the Federation places great importance on strengthening its international partnerships with major Chinese cities, leaders in innovation and technology. This is part of its strategies aimed at supporting digital transformation in Arab countries and opening new horizons for cooperation in technology transfer, innovation development, and entrepreneurship.
Al-Khouri highlighted the importance of cooperation with China, given its advanced industrial and technological capabilities. He praised the openness of Chinese officials and their willingness to support partnerships with Arab countries, to achieve the mutual interests of both parties.
For their part, Chinese officials expressed their aspiration to cooperate with the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, affirming their willingness to transfer advanced Chinese expertise to the Arab region and support efforts to build advanced Arab digital systems. They also expressed their willingness to cooperate in organizing specialized exhibitions and conferences related to the digital economy and innovation.
Mr. Huang Kaixuan emphasized that the Tianhe District is a major center for innovation and entrepreneurship in China, and expressed his welcome to explore opportunities for joint cooperation with Arab countries.
Mr. Zhuang Changxing also highlighted the importance of expanding partnerships with the Arab region in light of Shaanxi Province’s significant technological development.
Mr. Wang Bo emphasized Qingdao’s willingness to support joint digital projects with the Arab Federation for Digital Economy and to cooperate in organizing specialized events and exhibitions, contributing to economic development in Arab countries.
