During the second edition of the Digital Cooperation and Development Forum held in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Arab Federation for Digital Economy and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). This agreement comes within the framework of strengthening regional efforts to develop the digital economy in the Arab world, as it aims to modernize digital legislation strategies and integrate them with the Arab Digital Agenda.
The agreement emphasized the importance of joint cooperation between the two parties in preparing and developing digital policies and defining common working standards covering areas such as data protection, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure development, in addition to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives in the technology sector. The agreement also included the exchange of expertise and the formation of specialized working groups seeking to issue a comprehensive legislative guide reflecting international and local best practices.
Officials noted that this partnership will open new horizons for digital investment and enhance integration between Arab markets, contributing to sustainable development and enhancing the competitiveness of Arab countries globally.
