The Arab Ministerial Council for Communications and Information Systems, at its twenty-ninth session held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo on January 22, 2026, adopted the “Arab Projects Portal for Digital Transformation” initiative, which is led and implemented by the Arab Union for Digital Economy in cooperation with a number of regional and international organizations.

This decision comes within the framework of supporting joint Arab efforts to accelerate digital transformation and ensure Arab countries are ready to adopt advanced technologies, contributing to sustainable development and building more efficient and competitive digital economies. Adopting this initiative also represents an institutional step towards providing a unified Arab mechanism for compiling and developing digital transformation projects, and linking them with international partners from financing and implementation institutions, within partnership models based on mutual interests and respect for national priorities.

The Arab Ministerial Council for Communications and Information Systems, in its resolutions issued during this session, stressed the importance of cooperation with the Arab Union for Digital Economy in implementing Arab initiatives related to digital transformation, and supporting efforts aimed at developing digital infrastructure and enabling innovation and technology in the Arab region.

The “Arab Projects Portal for Digital Transformation” is the first Arab platform of its kind concerned with coordinating digital transformation projects at the regional level, enabling Arab countries to present their strategic projects, benefit from international expertise, and facilitate access to funding opportunities and technical support, in line with the rapid changes in the global digital economy.

The adoption of this initiative confirms the advanced position of the Arab Union for Digital Economy as an Arab platform specializing in supporting digital transformation, enhancing cooperation between Arab countries and international partners, and translating the Arab vision for the digital economy into impactful executive programs and projects.

The Arab Federation for Digital Economy, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and international partners, continues to implement this initiative in a way that serves the goals of digital development in Arab countries and contributes to building an integrated Arab digital system that supports innovation and economic growth.
