The Arab Federation for Digital Economy discusses with Libya the accuracy of digital indicators and data accreditation mechanisms.

The Arab Federation for Digital Economy held a coordination meeting via video conference with representatives of the General Authority for Communications and Informatics in the State of Libya, in order to review and measure digital economy indicators and verify the accuracy of the data contained in the relevant international reports.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ayman Mukhtar Ghoneim – Assistant Secretary-General of the Federation , along with Eng. Riad Mustafa Al-Zaytouni – Director of the International Cooperation Office, Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Ahrash – Head of the Arab Organizations Follow-up Unit, Eng. Najmi Tata – Director of the Strategy and Planning Office, and Dr. Abdul Qader Al-Zalitni – Director of the General Administration for the Development of the Communications Sector in the State of Libya.

The meeting addressed mechanisms for joint work with accredited international institutions that issue digital economy indicators, in order to ensure that the national digital reality is accurately represented in the issued measurements, in addition to coordinating efforts between Libyan authorities and those institutions that publish various international indicators, in order to ensure that the data reflects the true digital reality, and to provide official channels for reviewing or correcting information when any observations are made regarding its accuracy.

The Federation also reviewed the methodology adopted in dealing with the international sources used in preparing the Arab Digital Economy Index 2026, and the mechanisms for calculating the results according to precise scientific standards, while emphasizing the right of member states to access and review the data before final adoption and publication.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Federation extended an invitation to the Libyan side to participate in its upcoming conference, which will be held as part of the Seamless Middle East Exhibition and Conference at the Dubai Exhibition and Convention Centre in mid-May, as part of continuing joint efforts to support digital transformation in the Arab region.
