The Arab Federation for Digital Economy held a coordination meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in the State of Palestine, to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, and to review and audit the digital economy indicators for the State of Palestine as part of the preparation of the Arab Digital Economy Index for 2026.
The meeting was attended on behalf of the Union by Dr. Ayman Ghoneim, Assistant Secretary-General, while the Palestinian side was represented by Mr. Muath Daraghmeh, Planning Officer at the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy – Palestine, and Ms. Safaa Saif, Economic Researcher and Head of the Digital Economy Indicators File at the Ministry.
The meeting addressed a review of a number of indicators and technical data related to the digital economy in Palestine, especially those that are not available in international sources. The Palestinian side presented updated data that reflects the reality of the digital environment in Palestine and contributes to enhancing the accuracy of the indicators adopted in specialized Arab reports.
During the meeting, Dr. Ayman Ghoneim reviewed a number of strategic initiatives that the Union is working on, including the Arab Projects Portal, pointing out the importance of the participation of Palestinian institutions in these initiatives, which supports the presence of the State of Palestine in the system of joint Arab action in the fields of economy and digital transformation.
For their part, representatives of the Palestinian Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy expressed their appreciation for the Union’s efforts in supporting the digital economy in the Arab region, stressing their aspiration to expand areas of joint cooperation in a way that contributes to developing the digital infrastructure and enhancing economic growth opportunities in Palestine.
