The Arab Federation for Digital Economy issued a statement warning of the escalating risks threatening vital digital infrastructure in the Arab region, in light of the regional military escalation, stressing that targeting communications networks, submarine cables and data centers not only disrupts services, but also poses a direct threat to regional and international security and the stability of societies.
The Federation stressed that digital infrastructure has become an essential part of the continuity of the work of countries and vital services, warning that any damage to it could lead to widespread disruptions affecting communications, basic services, trade, and data traffic at the regional and global levels.
The Federation also condemned, in clear terms, the attacks targeting the Gulf states, affirming its full solidarity with them, and stressing that the security of the Arab Gulf states is an integral part of Arab security, and that any threat to them represents a threat that transcends the borders of the region.
The Federation called for a halt to military escalation, adherence to international law, and refraining from targeting vital digital infrastructure, along with taking joint Arab measures to ensure the continuity of services and protect communication networks.
The statement stressed that protecting digital infrastructure has become an issue related to security and stability at the regional and international levels, calling for a firm international stance to prevent targeting these vital facilities.
