The Arab Federation for Digital Economy is exploring opportunities for technological partnerships in China.

 A delegation from the Arab Federation for Digital Economy held a series of meetings with a number of entities and companies in China, headed by Dr. Abdullah Al-Darmaki, Deputy Secretary-General, and Dr. Ayman Ghoneim, Assistant Secretary-General, with the participation of Mr. Jit Dai, Executive Director of the Federation’s office in Hong Kong, in order to explore opportunities for building international partnerships in the fields of advanced technology.

The meetings focused on a number of vital sectors, including financial technology, artificial intelligence, electronic chips, digital trade, robotics, and smart cities, in line with the trends of the digital economy in the region, and contribute to the transfer of knowledge and modern technologies to Arab countries.

Financial technology and digital assets

The meetings addressed opportunities to establish companies specializing in financial technology, working on developing platforms for trading assets and converting them into digital assets through digital tokenization technologies, including issuing tradable digital certificates and regulating digital ownership processes.

Opportunities for collaboration with Gofintech, a company valued at approximately $10 billion, were explored in projects related to quantum computing, financial finance, and investment portfolio management.

The company was represented at the meeting by Mr. Liu Zhiwei, founder and CEO, in the presence of the Chinese partner, Grand Medal, headed by Ms. Lily Leung.

During the meeting, prospects for future cooperation were reviewed, and the focus was on launching feasible investment projects in the field of digital financial solutions, in cooperation with the Federation and potential Arab partners.

Artificial intelligence applications

The Federation delegation held meetings with AlGorain, a company specializing in artificial intelligence, at its headquarters within the prestigious University of Hong Kong in China. The company collaborates with the university on a number of advanced research projects in the fields of predictive artificial intelligence and digital twinning, using thousands of digital clients within the concept of “Agent AI,” which enables the development of systems capable of making decisions and carrying out tasks independently.

The meetings included a review of the technological solutions developed by the company, and an exploration of the possibility of employing them in the fields of digital government and public services, in addition to supporting digital economy initiatives in the Arab region.

AlGorain was represented at these meetings by its CEO, Professor Wang Zhenyu.
