During its visit to Shanghai, the delegation of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, headed by Dr. Abdullah Al-Darmaki, Deputy Secretary-General, and Dr. Ayman Ghoneim, Assistant Secretary-General, held a meeting with representatives of Digital Communication Group, in the presence of Mr. Chen Minqi, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Overseas Operations, and Ms. Sun Li, Chief Financial Officer. The company is one of the Chinese entities specializing in the development of digital educational content, documentation, printing, and converting books and scientific curricula into interactive digital materials.

During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on the company’s solutions for transforming textbooks into structured digital learning environments. These environments allow students to interact with the scientific content systematically while maintaining its connection to the approved curricula and original material. This model is distinguished by its focus on developing the textbook itself and transforming it into an interactive digital tool, moving away from traditional video-based or live-streamed learning methods.

The company is a prominent player in this field within China, operating in a number of provinces, with annual revenues of approximately US$750 million. It also seeks to expand its operations in the Middle East through partnerships with educational institutions, publishing houses, and digital platforms.

The delegation from the Arab League affirmed that these solutions represent a promising opportunity to develop the education system in Arab countries, particularly in the areas of producing digital educational content and transforming curricula into interactive materials that serve various educational levels. They also indicated the possibility of exploring cooperation with the Arab digital education platform edu4arab.org and the Education Pathways project, which would contribute to building a comprehensive Arab model for digital education based on accredited scientific content.

This meeting comes within the Arab Federation for Digital Economy’s direction towards building practical partnerships with advanced technology companies in the fields of educational technology and digital transformation, and transferring applicable practical experiences to the Arab region, in order to support the development of education, the publishing industry, and the building of modern Arabic digital content.
