His Excellency Ambassador Ashraf Rashid, Chairman of the Sustainable Development Committee of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, participated in the official launch of the Public Value Governance (PVG) program, which was hosted by the city of Durban in the Republic of South Africa, with the participation of government officials, international experts and representatives of regional organizations.

The program addressed the concepts of public value governance and its role in developing the performance of government institutions and linking public policies to developmental outcomes that directly affect the lives of citizens, in addition to reviewing the best international practices in the fields of governance, public administration and sustainable development.

Ambassador Ashraf Rashid stressed that the accelerating economic, social and technological challenges require the development of more efficient and flexible models in government administration, noting that the success of development programs is linked to the ability of institutions to provide high-quality services and build trust with society.

He also pointed to the importance of investing in building institutional and leadership capacities, and expanding partnerships between governments, the private sector and academic institutions, in order to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and keeping pace with rapid digital transformations.

The concept of “public value governance” is a modern trend in government administration, focusing on measuring the actual impact of public policies and services on citizens’ lives, rather than solely on measuring the efficiency of procedures or the size of government spending. This model aims to guide institutions toward achieving tangible results in the areas of development, quality of life, and public trust.
