His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, discussed with Mr. Lance Wan, founder and chairman of the board of directors of the Chinese company “Jinbin”, ways of cooperation in developing the “Arab Food Market” project, and benefiting from Chinese expertise in the field of e-commerce.
The meeting was part of a series of meetings held by His Excellency during his visit to the People’s Republic of China, which aim to expand the network of relations of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, and to explore opportunities for cooperation with institutions and companies specializing in the digital economy, within the framework of implementing theFederation’s projects and initiatives.
The two sides discussed the project’s implementation plan and agreed to start creating a pilot platform to be operated by Jinbin, in addition to preparing a database of suppliers and products, in preparation for launching the first phase of the project.

The two sides also discussed mechanisms for selecting key suppliers and studying product categories in coordination with the “Mahaseel” project, which would allow the platform to be launched in stages, with its services being completed and developed according to a phased action plan.
Both sides affirmed that the project aims, in its later stages, to expand from the food industry sector to other economic sectors, and to establish an Arab platform for e-commerce between companies that serves Arab markets and extends to the markets of Central Asia and Africa, thus providing new opportunities for producers and exporters to access foreign markets.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Tang, Head of the Sub-Offices of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy in the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Jet, Executive Director of the Federation’s offices in China.
