The head of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy is in China to discuss cooperation in sustainable smart building projects.

His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, met with Mr. Yang Nan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese real estate development company “Zipo Dingcheng”, to discuss prospects for cooperation in implementing smart and sustainable building projects, and to benefit from modern technologies in developing urban communities and smart cities in Arab countries.

The meeting was part of a series of meetings held by the President of the Federation during his visit to the People’s Republic of China, which aim to expand the network of relations of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, and to explore opportunities for cooperation with institutions and companies specializing in the digital economy and advanced technologies.

The Chinese side reviewed its expertise in prefabricated industrial building technologies, modern engineering solutions based on factory-based manufacturing, mechanisms to improve implementation efficiency, reduce resource consumption, and shorten construction time, in addition to applying advanced systems for managing the internal environment of buildings and providing high levels of energy efficiency and air quality.

The two sides discussed mechanisms for utilizing modern industrial construction technologies in implementing urban projects that rely on smart and sustainable solutions, in order to support the development of more efficient and higher-quality urban environments.

The meeting also reviewed the proposed cooperation model, which is based on employing the technical expertise and executive capabilities of the Chinese company, in coordination with local partners in the Arab region, and preparing for the launch of projects that support the trends of sustainable urban development, and are consistent with the objectives of smart cities in the region.

Both sides emphasized the importance of adopting modern construction technologies as one of the main pillars for developing future cities, due to the efficiency they provide in the use of resources, the acceleration of the pace of completion, the improvement of the quality of urban projects, and keeping pace with global transformations in the fields of sustainability and innovation.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Tang, Head of the Sub-Offices of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy in the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Jet, Executive Director of the Federation’s offices in China, and officials from both sides.
