Her Excellency Mariam Al Shamsi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Guangzhou, received His Excellency Counselor Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, in a meeting that addressed the initiatives and projects implemented by the Federation within the framework of Arab-Chinese cooperation in the fields of digital economy.
His Excellency Advisor Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri explained that the Federation is working on opening five offices in a number of Chinese cities, in parallel with the implementation of a package of strategic digital projects, most notably initiatives aimed at developing digital platforms to connect producers and exporters to markets, employing modern technologies to support supply chains, and facilitating trade exchange between China and the Arab countries.
The President of the Federation pointed out that the projects of the Arab Union for Digital Economy stem from the objectives of the Arab Vision for Digital Economy, which received the support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, may God protect him, and was officially adopted at the Arab Summit in 2022.
The head of the Federation explained that the initiatives that the Federation is working to implement are based on a strategic vision that aims to develop institutional practices by employing digital technologies and global best practices, building joint digital platforms that support the movement of trade and services, contribute to supporting the digital transformation in the public and private sectors, raise the competitiveness of Arab economies through innovation, develop the digital infrastructure, enable the knowledge-based economy, in addition to consolidating economic and digital integration between Arab countries, and expanding cooperation with international partners in a way that serves common interests.
The meeting witnessed an exchange of views on a number of topics of common interest, and ways to continue coordination and communication in order to serve the proposed initiatives and projects.
