Aboul Gheit participates in the Digital Economy Conference in the Emirates

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, departed for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, this Saturday morning, to participate in the Arab Digital Economy Conference. The conference is being held on December 16 and 17 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Ambassador Mahmoud Afifi, the Secretary-General’s official spokesperson, stated that Aboul Gheit’s acceptance of the invitation he received from the UAE leadership to participate in the opening of this conference comes within the framework of the Arab League’s great interest in supporting digital transformation plans and technological development in Arab countries. This is achieved by mobilizing available expertise and capabilities and unleashing the latent energies of various Arab countries to keep pace with the rapid and qualitative changes taking place in the structure of the modern economy at the international level.

The official spokesperson explained that the conference is expected to be attended by a large number of Arab and international experts and academics, as well as senior officials from regional and international institutions and organizations concerned with the conference topic. It is anticipated that the conference will produce practical recommendations and outcomes that will enhance investment opportunities in the areas of digital transformation in the Arab region and develop knowledge and technological infrastructure within this framework.
