Thanks and appreciation for the role of the UAE and the Arab Federation for Digital Economy in the sixteenth meeting of the Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals

At the conclusion of the 16th meeting of the Arab Committee for Follow-up on the Implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab Region, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the committee issued a number of recommendations aimed at enhancing digital transformation efforts and supporting sustainable development in Arab countries.

The most important recommendations :

  1. Thank you to the United Arab Emirates and His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan , Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Supreme President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, for hosting and organizing the second high-level workshop of the Regional Working Group on “Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development.”
  2. Welcoming the cooperation between the Regional Working Group and the Arab Federation for Digital Economy to launch a roadmap towards sustainable digital transformation 2025-2030 , which includes an executive action plan in cooperation with Arab countries, international and regional institutions, and the private sector.
  3. Working with regional partners to follow up on the outcomes of the Future Summit and ensure their compatibility with the proposed roadmap, taking into account the differences between Arab countries to enhance Arab integration.
  4. Including the digital initiatives and projects of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy within the Arab Digital Platform for Sustainable Development and the regional working groups emanating from it, to enhance the exchange of expertise and integration of efforts.
  5. Calling on Arab countries to develop regulatory frameworks and legislation that support digital transformation , and encourage digital investments by providing an appropriate legal environment for establishing digital companies and facilitating their operational processes.
  6. These recommendations came within the framework of efforts aimed at achieving sustainable development in the Arab region through digital transformation, which contributes to building an integrated and sustainable digital economy that supports innovation and enhances competitiveness at the regional and international levels.
