The Arab Federation for Digital Economy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Union of Arab-Brazilian Chambers to enhance cooperation in implementing some initiatives stemming from the “Arab Vision for Digital Economy,” including the e-commerce project and the Arab Digital Food Market platform, benefiting both the Arab and Brazilian regions.
The memorandum affirms the importance of the Federation’s efforts to ensure that all parties involved in the project exert all possible efforts to achieve Arab food security, based on the Arab Vision for Digital Economy, which was adopted at the 31st Arab Summit held in Algeria on November 1 and 2, 2022.
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Ayman Mokhtar Ghoneim, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, and Tamer Mansour, Executive Director and Secretary-General of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, and Shaheen Ali Shaheen, Advisor to the Chamber for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries.
It is worth noting that the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce is the only chamber in Brazil officially recognized by the League of Arab States and the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of the Arab Countries. It has a team specialized in auditing documents and papers according to the rules of origin and the requirements of Arab importers simultaneously. It employs 2,000 exporters and importers with an annual trade volume exceeding $22 billion. It also has two offices outside Brazil, one in Dubai, UAE, and the other in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
