Cairo University Honors President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy with the Excellence Medal

During the General Assembly meeting of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy on Monday, December 25, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Osman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, honored His Excellency Dr. Ali Al-Khouri, President of the Federation, with the Excellence Medal in Digital Economy for his efforts in developing the Arab digital economy ecosystem and promoting joint Arab cooperation based on digital knowledge, which has become a top economic priority in the modernization of Arab societies.

Dr. Elkhosht emphasized that the Arab Federation for Digital Economy has been a giant since its establishment by the Council of Arab Economic Unity in April 2018. In a timely manner, it has succeeded in directing attention to numerous topics related to the future of the digital economy in the Arab region and the importance of creating new and innovative business models consistent with the requirements of employing digital technologies in human society.

In recognition of the efforts and achievements of the Federation and its President, the honoring reflects Cairo University, the Arab countries, and Egypt’s appreciation for the significant role played by the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, headed by His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khoury, in activating and strengthening Arab cooperation in accordance with the updated version of the Arab Vision for Digital Economy 2023, which aims to develop technological and legislative infrastructure and support digital transformation plans and technological development in Arab countries. The vision also addresses the regional and global challenges posed by economic crises and geopolitics.

Al-Khasht added that the award is a token of appreciation from Cairo University for the Federation President’s exceptional efforts and intellectual and scientific output, which is distinguished by the seamless connection between analytical and methodological theories and innovative practical solutions in his proposals for developing the digital and knowledge infrastructure in the Arab region.
