The Arab Federation for Digital Economy participated in the launch ceremony of the “Solidarity for the Future” initiative under the slogan “Scientific Research Cannot Wait,” which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, under the generous patronage of the Secretary-General of the League, and organized by the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils.
The ceremony was attended by a number of senior Arab officials, including the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Sudan, the Minister of Education and Scientific Research of the Syrian Arab Republic, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Yemen, in addition to representatives of the National Commission for Education, Culture and Science of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Academy of Scientific Research in Egypt, and His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. The Union was represented at the ceremony by His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Khair Abdel Qader, Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Digital Economy.
The initiative aims to support research centers in Arab countries affected by conflict and provide a suitable environment for the continuation of scientific research despite exceptional circumstances. His Excellency Dr. Abdulmajid Benamara emphasized the paramount importance of this initiative, noting that “scientific research neither waits nor stops,” and expressing his hope that the initiative will receive the attention of all supporting entities to achieve its desired goals.
The Arab Federation for Digital Economy affirmed its appreciation for this invitation and announced its readiness to support joint Arab initiatives that contribute to preserving scientific knowledge and encouraging innovation, with a focus on empowering researchers and scientific centers in countries affected by conflicts and disputes, and investing its regional expertise in creating a sustainable and interconnected scientific work environment among Arab countries.
