Mr. Chen Jie, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Jiangmen City and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the City People’s Congress, received His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, at an official meeting attended by a number of senior officials of the Jiangmen City Government, to discuss prospects for cooperation in the fields of digital economy, artificial intelligence, financial technologies, and investments related to digital projects.
His Excellency Advisor Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri reviewed the most prominent initiatives that the Arab Federation for Digital Economy is working to implement within the framework of the Arab vision for the digital economy, foremost among them the Smart Robots Services Project in the Middle East region, which aims to employ modern technologies in supporting economic sectors, and to expand the fields of use of robots in industrial and service applications.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for cooperation with Jiangmen City in developing robotics applications and leveraging the city’s industrial and technological capabilities. The two sides also discussed establishing a joint investment platform to support projects related to the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and robotics, with the participation of investment institutions and funding bodies, to support joint initiatives.
The two sides also reviewed opportunities for cooperation in the “Arab Food Market” project, in addition to a number of initiatives that the Arab Federation for Digital Economy is working to implement, which expands the areas of cooperation between the two sides in the digital economy, trade and industry sectors.
The meeting discussed mechanisms to support industrial companies in Jiangmen City to expand into the UAE markets, and explored opportunities to establish joint industrial projects, which would contribute to transferring Chinese industrial expertise and opening new horizons for investment and manufacturing in the region.
His Excellency Advisor Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri explained that the Federation is working on building international partnerships that support the implementation of quality projects in the Arab region, by linking industrial and technological expertise with development needs, contributing to the development of innovative digital solutions, and expanding the areas of economic and technical cooperation between Arab countries and China.
The two sides agreed to form joint working groups, prepare a list of priority projects, in preparation for completing the arrangements for them, and discuss signing cooperation agreements during the Arab delegation’s visit to China next September.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Cai Dewei, Secretary-General of the Communist Party Committee of Jiangmen City, Mr. Liu Zhigang, Vice Mayor of the City, Mr. Zhao Xiaobin, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, Mr. Hu Qibo, Director of the Development and Reform Office, and a number of officials from both sides.
