The Arab Federation for Digital Economy signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Aston University in Birmingham, UK.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Federation by His Excellency Dr. Hani Hossni Zurub, Chairman of the Industry Committee, and on behalf of Aston University by Mr. Craig Jones, the University’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, in the presence of Professor John G. Woo, Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise, and a group of academic leaders and international relations and development officials at the University.

This new collaboration establishes a significant step forward in integrating Aston University’s scientific capabilities in applied research and industry-oriented education with the strategic efforts led by the consortium to develop the infrastructure for the digital economy. The partnership will focus on exploring opportunities for joint research and developing skills and talent in vital areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital finance, transportation, and the energy, water, and food sectors.

The memorandum also includes advanced academic collaboration to support specialized postgraduate research through the PhD+ program, guiding their research to provide practical solutions for institutions and policymakers. The agreement also allows Aston University to integrate its courses into the Arab Federation for Digital Economy’s digital education and training platform, edu4arab, thus expanding its global reach.

At the conclusion of the signing ceremony, the management of Aston University expressed its deep gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy for their pivotal role in the success and consolidation of this strategic partnership, which reflects the shared commitment to building international alliances that achieve a tangible developmental impact.
