Mr. Zhang Dengfeng, member of the Standing Committee of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Mayor of the city, received His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, in an official meeting at the city government headquarters, which was attended by a number of senior officials in the Hangzhou government, to discuss prospects for expanding institutional cooperation between the two sides, and plans to launch the Federation’s headquarters in China during the fifth session of the World Digital Trade Fair, scheduled to be held next September.

The meeting comes as part of the official visit of His Excellency Advisor Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri to the People’s Republic of China, which includes a series of meetings with government officials and leaders of economic and technical institutions, with the aim of expanding the Union’s international partnership network and supporting the implementation of its projects in the Arab region.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to adopt Hangzhou as the headquarters for the activities of the Arab Union for Digital Economy in China, as an institutional platform for coordinating cooperation programs, following up on joint initiatives, and expanding partnerships with Chinese institutions.
The two sides also reviewed the preparations for the Union’s participation in the fifth session of the World Digital Trade Fair, with a focus on launching quality projects that support economic and digital cooperation between the two sides, and reflect the trend towards implementing initiatives with a practical and sustainable impact.

The meeting addressed opportunities for cooperation in establishing a joint fund to support digital economy projects, encourage mutual investments, create a supportive environment for the expansion of Chinese companies in Arab markets, and contribute to building economic partnerships based on innovation and digital technologies.
Both sides agreed to establish a joint coordination mechanism to follow up on the implementation of the agreed initiatives, complete the arrangements for launching the Union’s headquarters in China, and prepare for the events scheduled during the World Digital Trade Fair.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Chen Qi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Hangzhou Municipal Government, Mr. Wang Yongfang, Director of the Municipal Commerce Bureau, Mr. Li Jie, Deputy Secretary of the Pingjiang District Communist Party Committee and Mayor of the District, Mr. Xu Junmin, Deputy Director of the Hangzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, along with a number of officials and representatives from both sides.
