The president of Guinea inaugurates the first government integrated data center and commends the efforts of the advisor of Arab Economic Unity Council League of Arab States in leading this strategic project

His Excellency President Alpha Condé of Guinea the first government data center, the data center connects all government establishments in Conakry. The inauguration ceremony was attended by H.E. the prime minister and a big number of ministers and officials, it was also attended by ambassadors of foreign countries. The ceremony also had a wide participation of international organizations that support this strategic project, like World Bank and United Nations.

H.E. the president, in a speech given by him during the ceremony, commended the efforts exerted by H.E. Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri to lead and execute this project that is considered a foundation of digital government infrastructure, and a starting point for different social and development projects.

From his side, H.E. Dr. Al-Khouri stated “We are proud to achieve building the first integrated government data center in Guinea, we will keep working with international organizations to execute the second phase of the national data center in Guinea, this will fulfil the requirements of the Guinean government as well as the public and private sectors. The project will be a significant step in the endeavor of Guinea to become a model technological hub to be followed within the west of Africa.

H.E. Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri was appointed on June 2019 as an advisor for the government of Guinea to utilize his expertise in digital transformation and development of digital economy foundation. This was then followed by signing an agreement between the Guinean government and the Arab Economic Unity Council, League of Arab States, the agreement stipulates the execution of projects that match the Arab strategic vision for Digital Economy. The common vision for Arab digital economy was launched on December 2018 in Abu Dhabi.
