The Federation was represented at the conference by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Shaiba, a member of the Federation’s General Assembly, who participated in the dialogue sessions and discussions that addressed the future of investment and sustainable development, the relationship between economic growth and climate action, as well as the role of technology and digital transformation in supporting future economies.

During his participation, Dr. Abdullah Al Shaiba reviewed the Union’s vision regarding the importance of moving from viewing sustainability and economic growth as two opposing paths, to building an economy in which sustainability becomes one of the drivers of growth, competitiveness and long-term prosperity.

He stressed that the green transformation is increasingly linked to the digital transformation, through the use of artificial intelligence, smart grids, the Internet of Things, data analytics and digital platforms to improve energy efficiency, manage resources and support investment decisions.

The speech also addressed the importance of investing in infrastructure, technology, human capital, research and development, and innovative financing, as well as expanding partnerships between governments, investors, financial institutions, technology companies, and research institutions.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Shaiba affirmed that the UAE experience provides a model that confirms the possibility of combining climate goals and economic growth, and that the green transformation represents an opportunity for Arab countries to develop new industries, attract investments, develop technology, and provide job opportunities, which requires expanding investment in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, human capital development, and supporting regional cooperation.
