The Arab Federation for Digital Economy participated in the Investment Summit (AIM China Chapter) held in Shanghai from November to 8, 2025 , in conjunction with the China International Import Expo (CIIE), with the participation of a select group of ministers, decision-makers, and investment and technology leaders from around the world.

The Union was represented at the summit by Ms. Asma Al-Janahi, a member of the Union’s General Assembly, who delivered a keynote speech entitled “China and the Arab World: Building Strategic Investment Partnerships in the Digital Economy Era,” in which she addressed the prospects for Arab-Chinese cooperation in the fields of technology, digital transformation and innovation.

During her speech, Al-Janahi emphasized that the digital economy has become the new language of development , and that Arab-Chinese cooperation in this field represents a historic opportunity to build a shared future based on innovation and knowledge. She noted that the Arab Federation for Digital Economy , which operates within the Council of Arab Economic Unity, is working to translate visions into practical policies and projects within the framework of the Arab Vision for the Digital Economy, which was adopted by Arab leaders in 2022 and is based on five key pillars: digital infrastructure, digital government, digital business, digital knowledge, and the digital society .

She also stressed that the Arab-Chinese partnership in the fields of artificial intelligence, smart cities, and digital financial services can establish a new phase of joint development based on knowledge transfer, capacity building, and the exchange of experiences , noting that the Union is currently working on establishing a fund for investment in the digital economy in cooperation with Chinese financial institutions to finance joint projects in the fields of advanced technology, green energy, and e-commerce.

Al-Janahi added that the initiatives launched by the Union , such as the Arab Food Market platform for digital food trade and the “Masarat” digital education and training platform, reflect the shift from vision to implementation, and constitute practical models for integrating Arab efforts with international partners.
