Cairo
The Arab Federation for Digital Economy, a member of the Executive Office of the Forum of Specialized Arab Federations at the League of Arab States, participated in the (56) meeting of the Standing Committee for Communications and Information Systems, which was held at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Smart Village, Arab Republic of Egypt, during the period from 19-20 January 2026, organized by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, in the presence of representatives from the United Nations.
Dr. Ayman Mokhtar Ghoneim, Assistant Secretary-General for Technical Affairs at the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, reviewed the operational framework of the “Arab Platform for Digital Projects.” He presented an overview of the platform’s mechanism, which is designed to be a “gateway to international partnerships.” Its aim is to bridge the gap between Arab government projects and global funding and implementation opportunities, and to support the implementation of the Arab digital agenda. This presentation was made in partnership with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Department of Communication and Information Technology Development at the League of Arab States, and the Arab Organization for Information and Communication Technologies.

An innovative working mechanism based on artificial intelligence
The presentation explained that the platform employs a sophisticated technological system to standardize the presentation of investment opportunities through a unified model consisting of nine main tabs covering all aspects of the project: technical, financial, and legal. The platform also utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to analyze input data and generate “smart summaries” that help assess project feasibility and match them with potential partners.
International partnership to ensure quality
Within the framework of governance and quality assurance, the presentation highlighted the pivotal role of partners, both in providing impartial professional opinions and evaluating project “smart summaries” before presenting them to investors, and in mobilizing international resources for investment, financing, and technical support, thus enhancing the credibility of Arab projects in the eyes of international bodies. The presentation emphasized that the initial operational phase will focus on activating international partnerships to leverage technological expertise and available investment opportunities.

Secure and controlled data erasure path
The Assistant Secretary-General noted that the platform gives top priority to information security and national sovereignty, as in its initial stages it relies on presenting “brief summaries” of investment opportunities, and full details are not disclosed except after signing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and obtaining the approval of the authorized government official.
Future steps
The presentation concluded by referring to the launch timeline, with full operation scheduled to begin, receiving applications from countries and training government teams during January and February 2026. The Union emphasized that the platform represents an institutional framework aimed at enhancing the ability of Arab countries to attract foreign investments and transfer knowledge through long-term partnerships.
