The Arab Federation for Digital Economy has taken possession of the Federation’s headquarters in the People’s Republic of China, allocated by the Hangzhou City Government, in a move that represents an important milestone in the Federation’s plan to expand its institutional presence and consolidate its partnerships with government agencies and economic and technological institutions in China.

The headquarters is scheduled to be completed and officially opened before the end of this year, serving as the main center for the Federation’s activities in China, in addition to a network of offices and branches that the Federation is working to establish in a number of Chinese cities and regions, including Hong Kong, Hainan, and other cities that represent major centers for the digital economy, technology, and investment.

The opening of the headquarters in Hangzhou comes in light of the city’s status as one of the most prominent Chinese centers in the digital economy, innovation, and digital trade, and its hosting of a number of leading global technology companies, in addition to hosting the World Digital Trade Fair, which is one of the most prominent international events specializing in the digital economy.

His Excellency Counselor Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri affirmed that the new headquarters will represent a platform for coordinating the Federation’s work in China, and developing partnerships with government agencies, the private sector, universities, and research and innovation centers, in order to contribute to the implementation of the initiatives and projects that the Federation is working on in the fields of digital economy, artificial intelligence, digital trade, financial technology, robotics, and digital transformation.

His Excellency added that having the Federation’s headquarters in China is in line with the Federation’s direction towards building sustainable institutional bridges with international partners, and benefiting from the Chinese experience in the fields of innovation and technology, which supports the transfer of knowledge, the exchange of experiences, and the creation of new opportunities for cooperation between Arab and Chinese institutions, in light of the objectives of the Arab vision for the digital economy.

The new headquarters represents a major starting point for coordinating the Federation’s activities in East Asia, following up on the implementation of joint initiatives, expanding the network of relations with Chinese institutions, supporting the implementation of priority projects, and consolidating the Federation’s presence on the international stage.
