On the sidelines of its participation in the 4th Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE 2025) in Hangzhou, the Arab Federation for Digital Economy (AFDE) witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement for BRICS Special Economic Zones, during a dedicated session on BRICS economic zone collaboration.
The agreement includes the establishment of the China Cooperation Center for BRICS Special Economic Zones in Hangzhou, as well as the publication of the 2025 Development and Trade Cooperation Report for BRICS Special Economic Zones, the first of its kind among the member states.
This collaboration aims to build joint platforms supporting digital trade, fostering integration in artificial intelligence, financial technologies, green agriculture, and the development of digital supply chains among BRICS member countries.
AFDE emphasized that this initiative represents a qualitative step toward advancing international integration in the digital economy and opens new opportunities for Arab countries to benefit from the pioneering experiences of BRICS nations in innovation and sustainable development.
