The Arab Federation for Digital Economy signs a memorandum of cooperation with the Hainan Free Trade Park for Environmental Technologies to support Arab-Chinese cooperation in the fields of digital economy and technological innovation.

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand its base of strategic partnerships in the fields of digital economy, the Arab Federation for Digital Economy signed a memorandum of cooperation with Hainan Eco-Tech Park Group Co., Ltd., at the Federation’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Union by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Darmaki, Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Digital Economy, and on behalf of the Chinese side by Mr. Yang Chunqi, representative of the Hainan Free Trade Park for Environmental Technologies.

The memorandum of cooperation aims to develop a practical framework for cooperation between the two sides, including the establishment of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Center for Digital Economy in the Hainan Industrial Park, to be an integrated platform to support technological innovation projects and facilitate the expansion of companies in Arab and Chinese markets.

The memorandum also stipulates cooperation between the two parties in studying the establishment of a joint investment fund to support digital economy projects, and organizing international conferences and events concerned with digital transformation and innovation. Areas of cooperation also include developing digital education programs, academic exchange and capacity building, in addition to establishing a comprehensive platform to serve companies and enable them to benefit from investment opportunities and expansion in the fields of digital health, digital finance and smart education.

In a statement following the signing, Dr. Abdullah Al-Darmaki affirmed that this memorandum “represents an important step in the path of building an integrated digital cooperation system between the Arab world and China, and opens new horizons for technical and investment partnerships that serve the future of the Arab digital economy.”

This partnership comes within the framework of the Arab Union for Digital Economy’s vision aimed at strengthening Arab-Chinese integration in the fields of digital economy and innovation, and developing joint initiatives that contribute to building a sustainable digital economy based on knowledge and modern technology.
