During his visit to Hangzhou, His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, President of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, learned about China’s experience in developing an integrated robotics industry system during a tour of the robotics manufacturing complex, which represents one of the most prominent national projects aimed at supporting innovation, accelerating the development of artificial intelligence applications, and transforming the outputs of scientific research into commercial products and solutions.
The tour included a visit to the robotics exhibition at the complex, which showcases the latest applications in the fields of industrial robots, humanoid robots, and service robots, along with artificial intelligence solutions used in various economic sectors.
His Excellency was briefed on the mechanism of the complex, which brings together in one location technology development companies, research and development centers, laboratories, business incubators, and investors, and provides an integrated environment for developing the robotics industry and enabling access to local and global markets.
The establishment of this complex comes within China’s strategy to develop future industries, as Hangzhou has become one of the most important robotics manufacturing centers in the country, with more than 700 companies operating in the value chain of this sector. The value of robotics production in the city exceeded 106.8 billion yuan during 2025, at a time when China is moving towards expanding its exports of smart technologies and robots to international markets, as it is one of the priority sectors in the Chinese economy.
His Excellency Advisor Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri affirmed that the Hangzhou experience represents an advanced and inspiring model in building innovation systems, and reflects the mechanisms of combining scientific research, financing, manufacturing, and practical applications, noting that such models provide important lessons that can be used in implementing the initiatives that the Arab Union for Digital Economy is working on, and supports the transfer of knowledge, the localization of technologies, and the development of digital industries in the Arab region.
