His Excellency the President of the Republic of Guinea (Alpha Conde) praised the efforts of the League of Arab States and the initiative of the UAE government in developing the joint Arab strategic vision for the digital economy, pointing out that it is an important knowledge reference that can be used in African countries to develop technological and economic infrastructures. Supports development projects and enhances economic growth opportunities.
This came during the President of the Republic of Guinea receiving a delegation of the Council of Arab Economic Unity in the League of Arab States headed by His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity, and the accompanying delegation at the presidential headquarters in the capital, Conakry, in the presence of a number of ministers and officials in the Guinean government.
During his meeting with the delegation, the Guinean President also referred to the strong brotherly relations between the Republic of Guinea and the United Arab Emirates, at the level of bilateral relations or the two countries’ position on international files and issues, praising the remarkable achievements made under the wise leadership of the UAE, and his country’s keenness to strengthen relations. at various levels.
On his part, His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, with the interest of the Guinean side in adopting the projects and initiatives of the Arab strategic vision for the digital economy, disseminating this vision and benefiting from it in improving the social and economic system in Guinea and the countries of Africa. Arab countries seeking to strengthen international relations and transfer Arab expertise to serve the prosperity of friendly countries and their peoples.
The joint Arab strategic vision for the digital economy launched by the League of Arab States, at the Abu Dhabi Conference in December 2018, hosted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, aims to activate and enhance joint cooperation based on Digital knowledge, technological and legislative infrastructure development, and support for digital transformation plans and technological development in the Arab countries. The first draft included about 50 pilot projects in favor of digital transformation in all Arab countries.
His Excellency the Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity presented a souvenir gift to the Guinean President, a sword made by hand, explaining that the sword has been referred to in Arab heritage and culture throughout history as a symbol of strength and justice. The President expressed his thanks and appreciation for this gift, wishing success for the delegation during its stay in the Republic.
