Sultanate of Oman: An important logistics center for maximum utilization of eCommerce

The plans of improving the position of the Sultanate of Oman as a logistics center, was reviewed during the meeting Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, Advisor, Arab Economic Unity Council League of Arab States, Chairman of Arab Federation for Digital Economy, with H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Saeed bin Salem Al Jaradi, Omani Ambassador to the UAE.

Dr. Al-Khouri reviewed the strategy of Arab digital economy, and its pillars related to improving Arab collaboration in the field of customs procedures un eCommerce, and the important logistic role the Sultanate of Oman can provide, in the time the sultanate sustained it’s ranking as the thirteenth worldwide on Agility index of emerging markets for the year 2018.

Dr. Al Jaradi expressed his happiness with the project of Arab digital economy, and his optimism and hopes for this project to achieve the Arab inspirations for a common Arab market based on digital inclusion, and supporting the development of knowledge, legal, and technology infrastructures of the Arab countries, and the frameworks for public and private sectors to achieve happiness, comfort, security, and development for societies of the Arab world.

H.E. emphasized the increasing importance of automating and digitizing all the fields, as this is considered the most important engine for development today, that would improve the development paths based on developing the capabilities of citizens of Arab countries, and harnessing the potential to improve their skills in the fields of digital economy and developing government services.

And Sultanate of Oman completes its infrastructure related to its transformation to an active and advanced logistics center, to serve the trade movement and transit between the GCC region and the world, and what it means to improve the capabilities of Omani economy.
