The Arab Federation for Digital Economy launched the “Initiative to establish advanced data centers at the level of the Arab region” and as one of the initiatives of the Arab vision for the digital economy, during the “Seamless 2021” Conference and Exhibition on Digital Economy Technologies, which will be held at the World Trade Center in Dubai and will run on September 29-30, 2021 under the auspices of the University of Arab countries.
This initiative is one of the most important initiatives of the Arab vision for the digital economy, as it aims to enable developing Arab countries to own a digital infrastructure, develop and manage cloud services to support digital transformation in all economic sectors, including government services, and help them reduce capital and operational expenditures and provide alternative solutions to improve energy consumption. The initiative also aims to build a series of data centers connected to central systems with shared digital platforms, through which best practices and applications can be shared in the provision of health care, education and government services, data protection, cybersecurity and advanced mechanisms in data management and decision support.

 

His Excellency Dr. Ali Al-Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy, said that the initiative represents the cornerstone for accelerating local capacity-building, skills development, and stimulating local innovation and entrepreneurship by providing growth opportunities for the local small and medium-sized companies sector and providing innovative solutions to social inclusion programs and achieving targets. Sustainable development, and this initiative is expected to yield great economic benefits in terms of creating jobs, attracting local and foreign investments, pushing the speed of transformation in various sectors, and enabling Arab countries to focus on implementing development programs that benefit citizens and society.

About the conference

The Conference and Exhibition of Digital Economy Technologies “Seamless Middle East 2021” will be held at the World Trade Center in Dubai and will continue on September 29-30, 2021 under the auspices of the League of Arab States and organized by Terrapin International Conferences Organization.

This year’s conference and exhibition comes after the launch of the Arab Digital Economy Vision initiative in December 2018 in Abu Dhabi, and to complement the efforts of the Arab League in highlighting the role of advanced technologies in building social and economic systems in the region.

A large number of government officials and experts will participate in the conference to shed light on the latest technologies and challenges in the world of the digital revolution, through physical and virtual platforms for remote participation and live broadcasts of events and sessions.
